"International Women in Engineering Day (INWED)" first originated in Britain. On June 23, 2014, this festival was established for the first time in the country, and its influence expanded rapidly in the following years. In 2016, it was funded by UNESCO for the first time. In 2017, due to the interest and enthusiasm of international participants, the British Female Engineer Day was first promoted to all parts of the world and became an international festival to celebrate the outstanding achievements of female engineers around the world and hope to raise women's attention in the field of engineers.
June 23rd, 2022 is the ninth International Day of Female Engineers. The birth of this festival aims to establish the equal status of women in the engineering field, celebrate the outstanding achievements of representative female engineers in the world, and provide better career opportunities for female engineers, so as to support them to set sail in the engineering field that is traditionally dominated by men. With the theme of "INVENTORS & INNOVATORS", this year's International Women Engineers Day is dedicated to commending innovators with the spirit of inventors, and SIOETC also supports more women to set sail.
