Introduction to Online Training

Shandong International Ocean Engineering Training Center (SIOETC) is a comprehensive international training center officially certified by OPITO and other well-known international organizations that meet high international and domestic standards. It can also provide professional training for people engaged in oil and gas industry, wind energy industry and diving operation.

Recently, our center has developed into a training partner with the famous online training giant Intelligence Sea Group (ISG). The two sides will share educational resources and will successively launch online training in various fields, covering shipping, safety and training subjects required by STCW. Our center currently offers the following courses: 

1. Work at Height (90 min English online theory class + 150 min practical operation class);

After completing the theoretical test and practical evaluation as required, students will receive a certificate jointly issued by our center SIOETC and ISG Group. The course work at height is suitable for personnel engaged in working aloft. This course includes two modules: Module 1: The fundamentals of working at height; Module 2: Preparing for working at height. Module 1 contents: define terminology used when working at height; Explain what work at height means; Outline key roles and responsibilities; Describe the process of hazard identification and risk assessment for work at height; Describe the hierarchy of control used to eliminate or reduce risk. Module 2 contents: Summarize dropped objects;Outline a typical emergency rescue plan; List final checks and how to perform the work safely.

2. Safe Chemical Handling Awareness  (60 min English online theory class + 6h practical operation class)

The Safety Chemical Handling Awareness course is applicable to relevant personnel engaged in dangerous goods operations. This course includes two modules: Module 1: What are hazardous substances and Module 2: Controlling exposure. Module 1 contents: Explain why it’s important to be aware of hazardous substances; Describe the regulations that relate to hazardous materials in the marine industry; List the different forms of hazardous substances; Describe the ways in which you may be exposed to substances hazardous to health; Describe the potential harmful effects from substances hazardous to health; Explain how to conduct a risk assessment. Module 2 contents: Interpret information from a safety data sheet; Explain typical control measures required to mitigate risk; Describe how to monitor exposure; Explain health surveillance requirements; Describe requirements for safe storage of hazardous substances.

3. Authorized Gas Tester

Welcome to our Authorized  Gas Tester elearning course where you will learn what gas testing is and about the different types of flammable and toxic gases,their behaviors  and hazards. You will also learn about the roles and responsibilities relating to authorized gas testing; how to prepare for gas testing; how to safely carry out gas testing and gas monitoring; and how to interpret the results.

4. Elementary First Aid

Welcome to our Elementary First Aid elearning course. The aim of this course is to give all persons intending to go to sea the education and training in elementary first aid to meet the Knowledge, Understanding and Proficiency requirements set out in Table A-V11-3 of the STCW code, the Standards of Training, Certification and Watch-keeping.

The courses function is to train all candidates in Elementary First Aid to a competence that they can take immediate action upon encountering an accident or other medical emergency.

5. Entry into Enclosed Spaces

6. IMDG (Dangerous Goods by Sea) Awareness

Welcome to our IMDG Awareness elearning course where you will learn about the international regulations that ere in place for the safe transportation of dangerous goods by sea. You will learn about the requirements for packaging and labeling dangerous goods under the lMDG Code, and how to safety handle and store cargo that contains dangerous goods.
