2024 Asia Safety and Health World Awards: Focusing on Spill Control Award

In September 2024, the 5th Asia Safety and Health World Awards (WSHAsia 2024) will be grandly held in Singapore. As the most influential annual event in the occupational safety and health (OSH) field in the Asia-Pacific region, WSHAsia 2024 will recognize individuals and companies that have made outstanding contributions in the OSH field. This year, WSHAsia has specially established the Spill Control Award to focus on outstanding performance in the field of oil and chemical spill emergency response.

Significance of the Spill Control Award:

As an international non-profit organization for oil spill control, ISCO is honored to join hands with organizations such as NEBOSH, Occupational Safety & Health Council, The Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Association, and many others to become supporting institutions of WSHA. This partnership aims to encourage and recognize businesses and individuals who strive for health, environmental protection, and safety.

ISCO (International Spill Control Organization) aims to raise worldwide preparedness and co-operation in response to oil and chemical spills, to promote technical development and professional competency, and to provide a focus for making the knowledge and experience of spill control professionals available to IMO, UNEP, EC and other organisations.

Oil and chemical spill incidents occur frequently, causing serious environmental pollution and ecological damage, as well as threatening human health and social security, leading to significant economic losses. Effectively preventing and controlling oil and chemical spills is an important issue in the OSH field.

The establishment of the Spill Control Award aims to recognize individuals and companies who have made outstanding contributions in the field of oil and chemical spill emergency response, encourage technological innovation and practical application in the OSH field, enhance the level of oil and chemical spill emergency management, and contribute to protecting the environment and human safety.
