Coincidentally on August 1st Army Day, the "SIOETC Cool Summer Small Navigator Science Popularization and Expansion Camp" research and learning activity officially began. The first batch of 26 elementary school students from Encyclopedia Education came to the International Ocean Engineering Training Center (SIOETC), embarking on a fantastic journey to understand the history of navigation development and enlighten marine engineering knowledge.

Whether on land or on sea vessels, fires are a dangerous emergency event that we need to face. Therefore, the fire drill site has become the first stop of this research activity.

As soon as they entered the venue, two teachers in firefighting uniforms were already waiting in the center of the venue. After queuing up, the teacher first explained the common knowledge of fire to the elementary school students, showcasing commonly used firefighting equipment and usage methods.

Subsequently, all the students experienced the evacuation drill after a simulated fire. The simulated escape cabin was filled with smoke, with extremely low visibility and a deep reproduction of the real scene of the fire. The elementary school staff followed the escape method demonstrated by the teacher and conducted a safe and orderly evacuation from the fire. Compared to daily fire drills in school, this training activity is more interesting and realistic. Although the outdoor venue is extremely hot and many students are sweating profusely, everyone's enthusiasm is exceptionally high.

In the second stop, everyone arrived at the swimming pool of the training center. As soon as they entered the pool, a rotating wind turbine model scaled 1:100 caught everyone's attention. In reality, the wind turbine we saw was a giant object over a hundred meters long, and elementary school students were very excited to observe the physical model from such a close distance.

Continuing forward, the wall on one side of the swimming pool was covered with commonly used equipment for sea escape. Everyone gathered in a circle and listened carefully to the teacher explain the common knowledge of sea escape and self rescue, as well as the use and methods of various tools. As it was the first time they had seen these tools and equipment, elementary school students asked the teacher various questions, and their childish faces were filled with curiosity at this moment, and the entire swimming pool was also filled with laughter and laughter.

In the distance of the swimming pool, as bubbles surged from far to near, a frogman with an oxygen cylinder on his back swam towards us. As he approached, he took off his oxygen cylinder, surfaced to take a deep breath, and plunged into the bottom of the water. After flipping freely at the bottom, he quickly swam more than ten meters away, causing the elementary school students by the pool to exclaim in surprise. This is the teacher holding the International Diving Training Coach Certificate at the center performing deep diving with oxygen cylinders and free diving without cylinders. Many students expressed great interest in diving at the scene, and interest is the best teacher. The center welcomes elementary school students to come here at the appropriate age to learn diving. We look forward to you experiencing the colorful underwater world and dancing with marine creatures!

After two training activities, the elementary school staff were already feeling a bit tired. The training center kindly provided snacks and drinking water in the rest area for everyone. After a brief rest adjustment, we set off by car to our next destination.

Here, we witness the development process of world navigation history, showcasing various models of modern ocean transportation and engineering ships. Here, you can simulate the cockpit in 3D, and have a shocking experience of navigating a 10000 ton cargo ship in the vast sea from the perspective of a captain... At the navigation hall of Shandong Maritime University, teachers from the Maritime University led elementary school students to have a vivid navigation lesson, with realistic ship models, The ultimate visual impact brought by the immersive simulated cockpit immerses elementary school students in it.

The final stop is our carefully prepared "Little Navigator" class, which is a feast of theoretical knowledge. Combining with the knowledge we just learned in the navigation hall, the teacher extended the content from various aspects such as navigation basic knowledge, marine energy exploration and development, and marine energy applications. The teacher's vivid explanation led elementary school students to open the door to marine engineering science, which is a new field of knowledge, During the interactive session, many students received small gifts by actively answering questions. After the class ended, the training center awarded the "Little Navigator" certificate to the elementary school students who participated in this research and learning activity. Amidst laughter and cheers, this research and learning activity ended successfully.
