As Chinese enterprises continue to expand overseas, occupational safety and health (OSH) management is accelerating its alignment with international standards. For safety management professionals, in addition to mastering professional knowledge and management methodologies, it has become increasingly important to understand international occupational safety and health concepts and be familiar with safety‑management practices under diverse cultural backgrounds.

As a globally influential professional organisation for occupational safety and health, IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) has long been committed to advancing the global development of occupational safety and health and building the competency of industry professionals.
In recent years, the SIOETC International Offshore Engineering Training Center has continuously deepened its cooperation with IOSH. Integrating international occupational safety and health concepts and management methods with the practical needs of Chinese enterprises, it has provided domestic enterprises and safety management personnel with a more international and professional platform for learning and communication.

From International Curricula to Global Safety Talent Development

Since the launch of the partnership, SIOETC has delivered training via IOSH Managing Safely and other certified courses to managers and safety professionals from enterprises across diverse industries.

During the training programme, participants can systematically learn about risk identification, safety management responsibilities, and occupational safety and health management approaches, while gaining in-depth exposure to internationally recognised safety management philosophies and thinking models.

Such competencies are particularly vital for a growing number of Chinese enterprises engaged in overseas engineering, international energy projects, offshore engineering, manufacturing and cross-border projects.

Safety management talents are required not only to be proficient in safety expertise, but also to possess a broader global vision. They need to understand international OSH requirements for global projects and conduct effective communication and management in diverse cultural and workplace environments.

Through continuous IOSH training programmes, SIOETC has cultivated a cohort of safety management professionals equipped with global vision, solid professional knowledge and systematic safety management thinking. This provides solid talent support for enterprises to participate in domestic and international projects and improve their overall safety management capabilities.

Forge Deeper Connections Between International Experience and Chinese Practice

The value of international cooperation lies not merely in introducing a single course or a set of standards, but more importantly, in establishing a long-term exchange mechanism.

Through continuous communication and cooperation with IOSH and other international professional institutions, SIOETC gains in-depth insights into global development trends and industry best practices in the field of occupational safety and health. Meanwhile, it enables international organizations to better understand Chinese enterprises, domestic projects, and the development needs of Chinese safety management professionals.

Such two-way exchanges build a closer connection between international standards and practical workplace scenarios in China.

In the future, SIOETC will further strengthen cooperation with IOSH and global OSH professional institutions. By continuously introducing advanced international concepts and practical experience, the center will cultivate more safety management talents with global vision and professional competence for Chinese enterprises.

Connecting global experience through international cooperation and empowering talent development with professional training.

SIOETC looks forward to partnering with more international collaborators to jointly promote the construction of safer and healthier working environments worldwide.
