SIOETC & PECB ISO/IEC 27701:2025 Transition: New Standards for Privacy Information Management
In the digital era, Privacy Information Management System (PIMS) has become an indispensable part of enterprises. With the increasingly stringent global data protection regulations, enterprises are required to manage Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in a more scientific and systematic manner. The release of ISO/IEC 27701:2025 marks a new stage in privacy information management. To help enterprises smoothly transition to this new standard, the International Marine Engineering Training Center (SIOETC) has joined hands with the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB) to launch the ISO/IEC 27701:2025 Transition training course.
This course is designed to help privacy and security professionals understand the significant updates in ISO/IEC 27701:2025. Participants will learn how to interpret, plan and implement the provisions of the Privacy Information Management System (PIMS) to make it a standalone system that no longer depends on ISO/IEC 27001. The course also covers the revised approach to controls: instead of directly linking guidelines to ISO/IEC 27002, the control system is divided into PII Processors and PII Controllers, with a shared category established for both parties. In addition, participants will learn that these categories can still reference ISO/IEC 27002 when applicable.
Upon the successful completion of the training, participants will be eligible to take the SIOETC & PECB certified ISO/IEC 27701:2025 Transition Exam. Those who pass the exam can apply for an internationally recognized qualification certificate to validate their professional competence in realigning and upgrading PIMS in accordance with the latest requirements of ISO/IEC 27701:2025.
